The Mattituck Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1961 by many members of the former Mattituck Merchant's Association. Since then, the Chamber has taken on many projects and has accomplished much in our town, from our lovely “Welcome to Mattituck” signs on both the east and west entrances of our hamlet to the park in the center of town. In 1979, the Chamber signed a lease with the State for the property in front of the then Bowling Alley and created a park with benches, lovely landscaping and a flag pole. The Chamber is proud to fly the American Flag from this park and has continued to maintain the park annually as a welcome to our visitors and show of pride for our country.
Throughout the years, the Chamber has worked with many other organizations and Town government to make numerous improvements to the heart of our shopping district, Love Lane. All of the sidewalks were redone, gas lights were installed and beautiful flower boxes were added to the store fronts. The parking area behind the west side of Love Lane was completed and a bike rack was installed. Behind the Capital One Bank, the Pike Street Park was created. At the Mattituck Inlet, nearest to Love Lane, docks were installed for easy access by boat to our downtown area.
The Chamber has been instrumental in improving Mattituck. Together with the North Fork Promotions Council, the Chamber built a Welcome Center in Laurel. We’ve painted The Laurel Railroad Bridge, installed the flagpole at the American Legion Hall, and constructed a new basketball court on Aldrich Lane. The Chamber has also been instrumental in getting Mattituck Creek dredged.
The Chamber continues to work on numerous projects with many local organizations thought the year.
Our Chamber's mission is to foster trade and to promote the general welfare and prosperity of our Hamlet and advance civic, commercial, industrial, tourism and agricultural interests in Mattituck and on the North Fork of Long Island.
Your generous contribution to the Mattituck Chamber of Commerce allows us to host well-known events like the Street Fair and First Fridays, invest in our community with scholarships for selected graduating seniors at Mattituck High School, and find new ways to enhance businesses and organizations in our tight knit hamlet.
